I had the original 1967 model with the 4BBL equipped OHC Straight-6. It wasn’t bad, had very good performance. I had little problem with Mustangs with the smaller V-8s as I had the manual transmission. Car handled excellent for the time. By the way, I believe the HP was closer to 230 and it had a really nice redline. Sounded like a Jaguar! I had a trans am firebird six speed loved it. My favorite car. Lost it but the stories to long. Hope someone is enjoying it now. Maybe I will find it again. Texas. Look for a movie called “Driver” with Ryan O’Neal, there’s a 76 Trans Am in it. Back when they had real stunt drivers none of that CGI garbage. I watched Smokey and the Bandit, at a Drive in on Friday night, Saturday morning bought a bandit SPECIAL, traded in a 1969 road runner, worst mistake I ever did, car was cool but nothing compared to the road runner on speed, sure miss my road runner.
