Okay this is hilarious. Someone needs it! Winner of the No Belle Prize…Gaston. As a specimen, yes, he’s intimidating. Now Gaston from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has won the worst prize of all. He’ll probably accept his “Winner of the No Belle Prize” trophy, but only because he doesn’t understand puns.

Gaston is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures’ 30th animated feature film Beauty and the Beast (1991). Voiced by American actor and singer Richard White, Gaston is an arrogant man whose unrequited feelings for the intellectual Belle drive him to murder his adversary, the Beast, once he realizes she cares for him instead. Gaston serves as a foil personality to the Beast, who was once as vain as Gaston prior to his transformation.

A unique character who is absent in the Beauty and the Beast tall tale by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont whereupon the film is based, Gaston was roused by Avenant, a character movie producer Jean Cocteau made particularly for his 1946 film adjustment of the story. Made by screenwriter Linda Woolverton, who construct the character in light of a portion of the exes she dated in her past, Gaston was created particularly for Disney’s adjustment of Beauty and the Beast in light of the fact that the studio felt that the film could profit by a solid reprobate, who is deficient in the first tall tale. As the character advanced from a nonthreatening privileged person into a self-important man tirelessly looking for Belle’s deliver marriage, Gaston at last supplanted a female relative of Belle’s who the movie producers had initially made to fill in as the film’s reprobate.
