May I forgive everyone who has hurt me, and make for them a prayer of forgiveness. May I remember the desperate, and make for them a prayer of hope. May I forget the sorrows of the year that ends, and make a prayer of joy. May I believe that the world can still be better, and make for it a prayer of faith.
Thank you Lord For having food, when so many spend the year hungry. For health, when so many suffer at this time. By having a home. when so many sleep on the streets. For being happy, when so many cry in solitude. Because of love, how many live in hatred. For my peace, when so many live the horror of war. I do love winter, especially the winter in the north of Norway, where I grew up. The sun is gone for 3 months, so the days are dark, but there is still an amazing blue light, and sometimes a tiny red and yellow stripe over the mountains. The stars are bright, the moon is visible day and night, usually lots of snow, and the northern lights never stops to amaze me. In the end of January, the sun comes back for a few minutes a day. It is a big celebration in Tromsø, and you can see the change in people’s faces. The darkness in winter is beautiful, the arrival of the sun is beautiful, the summer nights with no darkness at all are beautiful. If you have the chance, visit Northern Norway.
